Position Objectives:
As a Medical Assistant in our endocrinology clinic, you will play a crucial role in supporting our healthcare providers and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. You will assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, working closely with our medical team to deliver high-quality care.
Position Responsibilities
Patient Preparation
Greet patients and prepare them for examination by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and collecting necessary information.Clinical Support
Assist the physician with procedures, blood draws, and other clinical tasks as needed. Ensure all examination rooms are clean, well-stocked, and organized.Documentation
Accurately record patient information in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring all data is up-to-date and accessible.Patient Education
Provide patients with instructions and educational materials related to their diagnosis, treatment plans, and medications.Appointment Coordination
Schedule follow-up appointments, coordinate with other healthcare providers, and manage patient referrals.Laboratory Assistance
Perform routine lab tests, prepare specimens for lab analysis, and ensure timely processing of results.Inventory Management
Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed to ensure the clinic is fully equipped.Patient Communication
Respond to patient inquiries, follow up on lab results, and communicate with patients regarding their care plan under the supervision of the physician.Team Collaboration
Work closely with the clinic's healthcare providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Qualifications
- Certification: Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program is preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years prior experience in a medical office is required. Experience in an endocrinology or specialty clinic is a plus.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Proficiency in using EMR systems and basic computer applications. Experience with eClinicalWorks or Athena is preferred.
- Compassion: A patient-centered approach with a commitment to providing high-quality care and excellent customer service.
- Bilingual (Preferred): Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
